Live Train Map of London’s Underground
By Thomas Smith
Source : Red Ferret

If you’re in the UK and want to check the progress of your next train, or are just bored at work on a sleepy Friday afternoon, then check out this Live Train Map of the London Underground. Every train on the network is tracked in real time in the form of little red dots along the tracks, the yellow dots are stations. The program was created in just a few short hours by Matthew Somerville of MySociety and utilizes the Transport for London API which combines train predictions with a dash of mathematics for an accurate representation of train activity. The system still needs some work as a few stations are missing or misplaced and some trains behave strangely due to duplicate IDs. Still, it’s pretty helpful if you’re about to catch a train or are just bored. Check it out here : Live Train Map of the London Underground. And if you want more, there’s also a Live Train Map of the UK’s National Rail. Now hurry off or else you’ll miss your train.
