TED What if you could hear a great musician play again today, as if they were in the room with you? Software entrepreneur John Q. Walker has found a way to bring piano legends back to life by digitally reconstructing performances captured on audio tracks and playing them back, live, with real instruments.
In this video, Walker explains and “demonstrates how recordings can be analyzed for precise keystrokes and pedal motions, then played back on computer-controlled grand pianos.”
